Elijah's Mission Was Bloody Slaughter
Elijah thwarted God's plan by dying, leaving the prophet Elisha to consummate the task. He delegated the hazardous job to an unnamed young man. Jehu of Israel also has King Ahasiah of Judah assassinated. For good measure, Jehu ramps up the action by slaughtering 42 brothers of Ahasiah.
