The great man theory of history is that we only have great men, but are shaped by great men. And there's another view that says that there are certain tides and processes throuh history, and we shouldn't ascribe too much credit to individuals. Like findan cricket, you can say 19 83 made a big difference, all you could say the ipel made a big change. If gopichon did not exist, would badminton be where it is to day? And i think there's an argument there to be made that, no, perhaps it would not.
