Jesus uses encounter and questions, not just answers, to bring the deepest forms of healing. Jesus shows that he is the kind of messiah who isn't aloof to suffering. It's one thing to have a god who has power and can alleviate suffering, but it's an entirely different thing to having a god who willingly subjugates himself to suffering.
