Between 1 and 10% of the world's population have some type of food allergy. According to the Center for Disease Control, over 50 million Americans suffer from allergies. The immune system is your body's special team of germ-fighting superheroes. They spend their days keeping you healthy by seeking out and destroying harmful bacteria and viruses. But sometimes the immune system gets a little confused and starts treating harmless substances as dangerous invaders.
