The Effects of Misinformation on Factual Beliefs
People who score high on levels of acting faxing scepticism appear unaffected by the misinformation itself. These people are just kind of lost, and new information, correct or incorrect, just doesn't seem to bear upon what their views are. My guess is that with a high enough dose of misinformation, we would start to see some really worrisome effects. But that's also true of factually accurate information, right? So if you believe that misinformation is harmful, i think you also have to believe that accurate information is, is restorative.
