The Effects of Fructose on the GI Tract

Fructose can be metabolized by the fructose in the brush border enzymes. Most, so glucose is transported and our single sugars are transported across the brush border by these glut transporters. But fructose in excess of glucose needs to go through its own transporter. And so if you eat enough fructose in excessof glucose, you get diarrhea because of the fructose,. even though you can't absorb it.
