Manchester City - Are They Less Direct This Season?
Manchester City are spending longer on the ball per sequence. They're playing more passes per sequence, which might be an a quirk of the early-ish season but I would have expected them maybe to be a little bit more direct in the way that they set up. Maybe it is that, you know, spaces, if spaces don't open up against the set defences, then they're good at still being patient and working and opening until they get that high quality chance for Holland. No one was expecting them to become a long ball team because of the presence of such a large striker. As Mark said, if anything, that's even more possession heavy, even less direct.
