Silverware - Where Does It Go?

i have the same silverware set since we got married 12 years ago, exactly me too. However, in the 12 years before that, i would estimate that i lost every fork i ever encountered. Its to be the roommate's right? Nobody's respecting the property because it's all shared property. Ah, who would force you to be more respectful of the cutlery? I remember, i moved out of one apartment, and as i was moving out, i found, like, a plate underneath my bed with just two forks and what must have been 17 year old fried rice.
