The Unrequited Love of Borges
The protagonist of this story is essentially Borges. He has one of these unrequited love, this obsession with a woman named Beatrice Beatrice Viterbo. She's probably more of an ideal than a human being. And the bulk of the story really has to do with this. An acquaintance who is a cousin of Beatrice that he winds up hanging out with because it's the only way to be kind of close to her in some sense.
