The Long Acting and Reversible Contraceptives in Australia

Australia is falling behind as global peers on the use of long acting and reversible contraceptives like into uterine devices. These are small devices that are basically put into your uterus to prevent pregnancy they cost about 30 bucks or $7.30 with a healthcare card however copper IUDs which some women prefer back can be between 80 and 90 dollars. Professor Daniel Mazza who we mentioned just before she said the IUDs reduce the levels of unwanted pregnancies but there was not enough GP training or compensation to encourage their uptake.
