The Great Redistribution of Wealth
In the ear of the gold standard, almost nobody had wealth. This was a gold standard that allowed you to save in gold if you belong to the top 1% of the distribution. Most people had no property. They rented their accommodation and that was it. But the reason people have property now is because of the industrialization that has increased living standards which came about under the gold standard.
