I think there needs to be a mechanism outside of the space of ideas of humbling. I've done martial arts for a long time. I got my ass kicked a lot. And that's what I felt was missing in these very difficult, very important conversations. It kind of got broken down because, as you say, I sensed fear. Everything was permeated with fear. Fear is paralyzing and destructive,. especially in a place that's supposed to be all about freedom of ideas.
