The Rise of Political Polarization in the Obama Presidency

Cable news, particularly Fox News, is driving a lot of political polarization. John McCain won older Americans. Older people have more retrograde views on race. Is it possible that Obama's presidency had a very politically polarizing effect among folks who maybe did not vote for him in the first place as a demographic?
