The Evolution of the Parasitic Barnacle
Aldous Huxley and JBS Hal Dain J.D. Bernal had their own version of barnacle apocalypse where they thought that if humanity kind of gives up on all hardships it'll eventually destroy itself so yeah I think you know we might talk about this later but it's a nice example of where people have kind of got wound up in what now seem very obviously like dead ends when it comes to fears for the future.
