How Does Stellarium Names Work?
The International Astronautically Union has a committee on stellar names that is working to collect the names from various cultures around the world. In places like New Zealand, you can actually go to museums and buy star charts that have the Maori people's names for stuff. Software like Stellarium will even let you turn on and off by the constellations of different cultures. I mean there's going to be some badass names for some of the objects in the sky.
