Is the AUMF the Basis for the US Military Interventions?
The 2001 authorization that says you can go after Al-Qaeda and then was later interpreted to say you can also go after groups affiliated with Al-Qaeda is now the basis for this US footprint. It's the basis for interventions much smaller than the Afghanistan one in about 85 countries across the world. What really concerns me is that the US is really good in following into a pattern of a new bad guy or a boogeyman.
