The Importance of Passive and Active Listening

When learning a language or practicing Spanish, I spend a lot of time listening. And what I've found is that I tend to understand a lot more than I can express myself. It can be really frustrating because I understand what somebody is saying, but I can't express myself to the same level. So you could say, maybe we have again, like passive and active vocabulary.
