The Wuhan Institute of Virology was working on SARS-like coronavirus. They had found a cave in Yunnan with Horseshoe bats in it, which very close relatives of the SARS virus were circulating. When this pandemic broke out, they announced that they already had RATG-13 - but then changed its name to pneumonia. The lab also brought back eight other closely related viruses up till 2020.
