Stephen Houlgate - Hegel On Being

Machinic Unconscious Happy Hour

CHAPTER

The Relationship Between Reality and Negation

Hegel thinks that if we make explicit what's implicit in a structure, we get the idea of self-relating being or being something. And so ultimately, to be will mean to be something and it goes on through that one, but it goes on. I would say there's a parallel in the phenomenology when we move from the end of one shape of consciousness to a new one. It almost seems to kind of track his sort of move into kind of making these latent seas within consciousness become explicit.
