The Infinite Player

The number of companies that study their competition strategically blows my mind. The infinite players, the ones who wake up every day trying to beat somebody else, I find fascinating. Sometimes your product is better and sometimes it's not; you can be ahead or behind at any time. It begs the question, how does one play the infinite game?
