"I find it really aggressively sort of spitefully unpleasant. Like it seems that what the Cardinal is saying is we're tolerant of certain kinds of sins and we're not sufficiently tolerant of grave sexual sin," he says. "It's like when you try and embarrass someone into not pursuing an argument by sort of saying, you know, to, to sort of shame someone into not questioning their logic."
