The Onions and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange
The name of the city was derived from Chicago, the Native American word for a stinky wild leak plant that grew around the river. Other tribes of the region referred to the area as the place of onions and legends of a great skunk who devoured humans in its pungent spray. Vincent Kasuga had a big spread about 5,000 acres of a black dirt farm and black dirt is like really fertile rich earth. So he was growing celery, carrots and onions, lots of onions. He always kept a revolver on him and a Billy Club making case he got the revolver away from him. But perhaps it was his resolute faith I don't know.
