I think that, you know, obviously when you have the biggest worldwide recession since the world wars or since the Great Depression, then politics is going to get a little bit funky. I'm not sure how much we can blame neoliberalism per se because I look at this and I see kind of the same thing happening in so many different places around the world. A lot of the populist backlash in recent years is driven much more by cultural factors than economic ones.
