The idea to separate out formal language to competence comes from the fact that we humans have a network in our brain that's specialized for language. And so yeah, a lot of the distinctions we draw in the paper are based on what we know about functions specialization of the human brain. But then we know that there are other parts of the brain and other brain networks that do other things that are responsible for social cognition, for logic and math and reasoning for situation modeling.
