isaac hayes was one of the stars of the 19 74 black sploitation movie three tough guys. The film, a very modest grocer, is better known to day for its isaac hays sound and which continued to reverberate in hip hop for decades afterward. By the nineties, hayes became best known to younger generations for his role as jerome shef mac elroy on t vs south park. Hayes lived to see memphis rap troop three six mafia take home the best original song academy award for their track, it's hard out here.
