Sports Bet's $64 Million Spending on Television Ads

Sports bet the country's largest online bookmaker has spent $64 million on television ads during live sport and racing events in just the past 18 months. That's more than triple the amount spent by rivals TabCorp and Ladbrokes. Confidential spending data compiled by researchers at Nielsen and obtained by the Australian financial review shows the extent of spending by bookmakers. The federal government is considering whether to place a ban on gambling advertising on television. It's worried major broadcasters who fear that they'll lose revenue already bookmakers are scaling back their spending.
