Does the Concept of Covenant Become Obsolete?

The first question was how does one understand and honor covenants made in the eldias church, in baptism temple and so forth. A related question would be, as authority shifts in faith transition, does the concept of covenant become obsolete, or does it expand? For me, i would say, right now it expands. I wouldn't say it's obsolete. But some people would feel maybe it is, and that would be worth discussion.
