The Lord Is the Creator of the Universe
The lord, the god of hosts, is his name. He controls the most elevated celestial powers and holds in place the threatening and untamable powers of the waves. These verses remind israel of the one with whom they have to do. They must reckon with the creator of the universe. The gate was the sit of judgment and rule. It was the sight of the elders and of legal proceedings.
