The Idea of Sacrifice

Mankind was exiled from paradise and began its effortful mortal existence. After contemplation, struggling humanity learns that god's favor could be gained and his wrath averted through proper sacrifice. The necessity for work is one of the curses placed by god upon adam and his descendants. There's little difference between sacrifice and work. They're also uniquely human. Sometimes animals act as if they're working, but they're really only following the dictates of their natures. And beavers build dams. They don't think, ya, but i'd rather be on a beach in mexico with my girl friend while they're doing it.
