I Forgive You, but I Don't Want to Be in Relationship With You
When you say to someone, I forgive you, what that suggests is that you're inviting reconciliation. Often the person who's hurt you maybe doesn't deserve to reconcile with you. And there needs to be some moral space between her intention for him and not trusting him enough to be in relationship with him. It seems to me that's the moral space where forgiveness can live.
