The Role of the Media in Perpetuating Gender Roles
There is evidence that differential socialization begins basically right from birth. The media particularly gets a large amount of criticism for their role in perpetuating gender, differential gender socialization and gender roles. There are studies where mothers asked to estimate the motor abilities of their infants even though there isn't any measurable objective difference between boys and girls.
