How to Determine if a Story Is a Short Story or a Long Story

The author explains the process he uses to determine if a story is short or long. He says once you have your G was factor and your character, you give them a desire, something that they want. And then you just systematically deny it to them. The only way I started getting passively good at short fiction was reading good short fiction.
