Basque Close Syntax
The focus is the one most important piece of the Basque close, basically. It has to be put just in front of the verb and nothing can come between the focus and the verbs. The need for focus is so strong that synthetic verbs cannot appear initially at the front of a close. Negative sentences are typically verb initial but only the auxiliary.
