The idea that you want EPA to be competing in this process I think is a completely out totally outdated understanding of inflammatory processes. Almost everything taught in the 90s forward and even what you find in textbooks now is mostly reflecting outdated understandings of inflammation. It's not about eating the food in an acute sense it's about the cell membrane content of these fatty acids. What you want is to have a robust enough arachidonic acid cell membrane content that it will not be overwhelmed by EPA competition.
