The Power of Deep Learning

The power of deep learning is that you can give the machine learning model a lot of freedom to pitch whatever seems to make more sense for the object you're trying to detect. In the first stages it's mostly looking at stuff like edges and sharp difference in contrast in some region. And so as you go deeper in the model it's basically building kind of a hierarchical understanding of the object you want to detect. That's how at the end you can get these really good quality detections.
