Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Powder got lucky in 2006 when his self-penned Bad Day became a running theme on the fifth season of American Idol. His one-hit beat out 2006 smashes like Sean Paul's Temperature, Nelly Furtado's promiscuous and Shakira's Hips Don't Lie. Nickelback are also hugely popular, selling tens of millions of albums and scoring a string of hits in the aughts.
