Gordon b hinkley was speaking in the priesthood session, at the end of the priesthood session. He actually does mention that there is an allowance that leaders of the church are paid. Gordonby hinkley himself called it a parenthetical comet. The living allowances given the general authorities come from this business income, and not from the tithing of the people.
