The Diffusion Index Is the Lowest Since April, 2020

Retail sales came out last week, not great. But Spokes said the diffusion index is the lowest since April, 2020. And it has never been this negative outside of a recession. Now I feel like this sort of stuff should be taken with a grain of salt given fiscal stimulus that we saw and given how wild people were spending.
