Andrew witnessed the horrors of starvation first hand. It's hard to know exactly how many people died in china during the famine. There were also rumors about cannibalism, that little children were eaten or some one die and then tey the fresh eaten. And it wasn't just the sparrows that were disappearing. They're always happy and chuppy birds. Then they'd be dancing around and singing in the sun, until there're no sparrows around. Theyve got eaten, poor sparrows.
