The Effects of Stimulants on Attention
The evidence says that methylphenidate, concerta or ritalin, something like that, the treatment for ADHD improves sustaining attention. People are very medication resistant at times because of the idea that it would either turn them into an automaton and giving kids ritalin is bad. But all the evidence is, at least in studies of short, up to five years, that you're looking at significant improvements in the deficits associated with what you pay attention to. And I think that's why they're really powerful.
