Is the Mind an Emergent Property of the Brain?

There are different theories in philosophy of mind. So there's a physicalism, which posits that there are different forms of physicalism. Then you get positions like epiphenomenalism and functionalism. And then some people find that there are convincing arguments that none of these things can be true because of the capacities that we have as human beings. Some think that from the brain emerges the mind, the soul, from the complexity as a new substance. This would be like emergent dualism. But one may want to ask, well, how how does the brain do it? Well, its just really complex.
