Bush's failure was to put himself in the feet of Iraqis and rather than people he grew up with in the oil patch. Bush had long ever since he first ran for unsuccessfully for Congress back in the 1970s, had believed that the number one thing people want is freedom. He never thought there would be all of these sectarian tensions that would have to be addressed.
