"I just feel like that was the start of me just differentiating," he says. "My parents didn't get it, but they accepted it." He recalls meeting his future wife at a bar in Ann Arbor when things were going badly for him. The pair have been together ever since; she's now married to fellow musician Mike Birbiglia. 'We did a much a shit with you back, i mad,' Björn Hölderlin remembers them saying about each other.
