The Moral Risks of AI Sanctions

Blake Lemoine: How do you think about the moral risks associated with different beliefs, stances we can have towards AI sanctions? And there's a kind of emerging literature on this idea of moral uncertainty and specifically applied to this debate about moral standing and moral status. He says he thinks it will probably cause people confusion and mental distress if they are convinced that they're talking to a conscious entity. So I guess I was just talking about some errors we could make and over-attributing sentience to AI systems. It seems like false positives of sentience could be very relevant there.
