Baudrillard writes that traditional phallic symbolism has fallen apart. The order of nature is everywhere present in the system, but present only as signs. For Baudrillard, all objects, cars included, become women in order to be bought. Women are obviously subject to the same forced abstraction imposed on humans generally.
