I had a MacBook Air between 2013 and 2020. The only reason I stopped using it was because the SSD just failed. A device that has not been sold for more than five years is considered vintage. If it's been more than seven years, it's considered obsolete. So if your Mac book era was teetering on the edge of obsolete, you got your money worth out of it.
