The Pediatric Dermatology of the COVID Pandemic
Rheumatologists were called to treat patients with hyper inflammatory syndromes during the COVID pandemic. These looked a lot like some of our conditions that we treat, such as macrophage activation syndrome and Kawasaki disease. Patients responded very well to steroids, sometimes IVIG, pooled immunoglobulin and other medicines that block cytokineslike anakinra or amlexumab.
