Homer and the Iliad and the Odyssey - Part 1

The Iliad and the Odyssey were once part of a much longer series of works that generally get called the Epic Cycle. Many of the poem's most famous scenes lie in these books, from Achilles having his buddies over for dinner to Odysseus going on a bloody nighttime raid. In the next program we're going to move into the heart of this ancient war story, reading books 9 through 16.
