Hamilton: I would at least air on the side of caution just say air-free techniques as much as possible right. do it under argon or under nitrogen and like have a balloon like not just like an argon flow but when you're adding stuff in just under a constant flow of argon. When you're adding in your methylating agent you could do it through a system that's already fully purged with argon so that there's no time where it's exposed air.
