There was no united opinion on this matter, because that was depending on who side you are. For people who suffer from Saddam, which are the majority of the Iraqi people, at the beginning they were looking at the US forces as liberators. That changed only a few months later when the violence started across the country. People realized that, insecurity-wise, they were better off back in sometime time than the era of democracy. To all the men and women of the United States Armed Forces now in the Middle East, the peace of a troubled world in the hopes of an oppressed people now depend on you. We have not seen any initiatives that should help the local people. The situation is terrible
